    Sexbots / Robotic Prostitution.

Might not be as advanced as in scifi, but…

Its more or less a perfect loophole for strip clubs.

Its not a person servicing you, you’re simply paying for temporary use of mechanical equipment, like a gym.

Maybe not strictly illegal, but … as best I can tell, not really currently totally, explicitly legal.

Kind of a gray area, I guess I mean that I think it will become more normalized and ‘more’ legal.

Well since we are all sliding into fascism, here’s my prediction for 50 years from now:

Slavery and lynch mobs will be legal (provided the targets are the ‘correct’ ones)

    Women’s rights will be nonexistent

Military press gangs will be legal

It’s really sad how optimistic you all are in light of actual reality happening around you.

Probably literal slavery instead of the Quasi slavery we have now. They’re just going to cut out the middle man I think.

Many places are legalizing psychedelic mushrooms. MDMA is being used for veteran PTSD, and ibogane is gaining respect for severe addiction

drug laws are going to be drastically different 50 years from now. EITHER people at power are going to be sensible (LOL yeah right) and make the beneficial ones less illegal OR everything will be illegal and testing positive for anything will get you the death penalty or sent to a torture camp.

We might see alcohol banned again, this time with the might of enshitification and modern technology to back it up. It’s going to be a lot more ruthless and cutthroat next time around. Boy oh boy I can’t wait for the absolute chaos that will unfold when companies start firing people left and right for testing positive for alcohol metabolites after they spend zillions of dollars figuring out how to make unbeatable alcohol drug tests with stupidly long detection windows instead of actually using the technology of modern medicine to do anything useful like cure cancer or help people.

So when slavery for non-criminals ended, they just started making more black criminals (and criminals in general).

I don’t think it’s pedantic to say that slavery is still legal when there is an entire industry built around that currently legal slave labor.

That’s not pedantry, it’s being correct. Slavery isn’t illegal in the United States. It’s used as a punishment for crimes.

And yet that little factlet has zero bearing on anything in this discussion, you just saw an opportunity to be snarky and jumped

The discussion is about things that are illegal today that could be legal in 50 years. Slavery itself falls outside that topic because it is already legal. That isn’t trivial or splitting hairs, nor is anyone being snarky by pointing that out. It’s just a fact.

Boy, if you’re going to act like a know-it-all you should at least know a bit more.

The main thrust of my argument, that you seem so determined to ignore for imaginary internet points, is there isn’t press gangs roaming around and kidnapping people into slavery, and there will be within 50 years.

This does not currently happen legally in the United States

                BUT

You adjusted your cokebottle glasses and 'UM ACKKTCHUUUALLY’d the prison exemption

Not because you had anything useful or interesting to say, but rather to see your own writing and get a reaction. I don’t think you really understand how irritating that is as a personality trait, and is likely the reason you are so lonely

                  A. You didn’t articulate that until just now so how could anyone know what you meant unless you actually said it?

                  B. Are you aware of what ICE has been doing, because that sounds a lot like what ICE has been doing. More prisoners = more “prison labor” (to be clear, that means slaves). Although, to be fair we don’t actually know where most of their victims have gone.

Says the guy making personal attacks on an Internet forum over being corrected…

I don’t know, slavery is pretty legal in a lot of places, including the USA.

Neither slavery nor involuntary servitude, except as a punishment for crime whereof the party shall have been duly convicted, shall exist within the United States, or any place subject to their jurisdiction.

Sounds pretty legal to me. Just gotta drum up charges against whoever you want to enslave in the USA.
