Let me save you some time: There is literally nothing you can post that will cause me to doubt my writing skill, though I invite you to try.

Writing’s just my hobby side hustle and I doubt anyone is going to waste processing power on my particular niche

And I’ve had a lot more setbacks than successes, my aunt isn’t the only one I’ve been working on but she’s the only one to make progress.

Don’t give up! There is a hopeful future at the end of all of this if we can just get 10% of them to understand

I’ve had small success with my aunt by focusing on her love of children, explaining how many are dying under the needlessly cruel boot of Israel

From what I have figured out:

1. They need to already respect you in some way, this does not work on random strangers unless you are a top tier communicator or public figure

2. You need to identify the levers, for my aunt it is babies in danger. It will be different for different people, you need to do your homework

3. INFINITE PATIENCE and consistently reiterating your own genuine respect for them (this can be hard, you may need to dig deep), you need to show them that they aren’t your enemy and that they have been lied to by people they have trusted for nefarious purposes

4. Play on the rights inherent distrust for the elite, Muskrat and co ARE the elite! Look at what he’s doing to medicare!

5. It will take many, many sessions and you CANNOT falter or get impatient or it gives them an excuse to dismiss everything before

It’s not easy, it takes time and effort, though it is doable

No, but I do earn enough that I don’t have to work full time and that was my primary goal frankly

Not really, LLMs can’t keep the plot for more than a few paragraphs and still constantly context switch.

Add on top of that we are currently at 90% saturation for what is possible with LLM technology, meaning that the brightest minds in AI have realized that there is no singularity curve approaching infinity but a bottleneck over the cross-indexing of tokens. The more tokens, the exponentially more connections need to be made.

Adding a new token means greater overhead and while our technology grows linearly, the cost per token grows exponentially and that is an unsustainable curve limited by the total global possible processing and we’d need to triple that before the next generation of LLMs can have enough tokens to make a difference in quality

Add on top of that I’ve got 30 years max left to live and I’m pretty confident we won’t see writers lose out in that time.

I’ve tried out several ChatGPT flavors and also NovelAI and they aren’t very good at writing yet.

Sure if you work it you can get a few decent paragraphs but for now LLMs just can’t ‘follow the plot’, and the amount of work needed to keep them on track is basically the same as writing the entire scene yourself

This may change in the future but for now I’m pretty confident that good writers have zero to be concerned about from generative AI

Gene Rodenberry’s Andromeda would have been amazing if they hadn’t fired the first season writer and remade the show for syndication.

He posted a ‘It’s not canon but if I were still an employee it would be’ post and it was amazing and so much better than all the seasons that came after.

So in my mind, the original creator’s vision was the true vision and the bastardization of corporate greed that resulted is an abomination and all involved should be whipped.

Somehow I don’t see bestiality ever going mainstream, sorry.
