[orange, looking weary, while pink looks on] Mate… Why would you say you’re hetero, the person you’re dating used to be a dude, that makes you gay

[green, holding hands with pinkblue] The person you’re dating used to be a kid, so… you’re a pedophile?

[orange looks pissed]

[green shrugs smugly]

  • The transphobic argument isn’t that you’d be gay for dating someone who used to be a dude, in their view you’re currently dating someone who still is a dude.

    These kinds of imaginary clapbacks are fun but usually end up fairly unconvincing to (transphobic) people.

    Honest question… cis person of whatever preference dates trans person of whatever gender… Is that not always identified as two queer people in a queer relationship? E. G., if a cis straight presenting guy dates a trans woman, for their first time, stepping out of norms, are they not learning they’re queer?

    I’ve thought the same about swingers, enm, etc that are otherwise straight cis couples… they’re literally “queer” per se in that they are atypical or non-normative.

    Please inform me either academically or practically, I’d appreciate either.

      Queer is a reclaimed umbrella term for any non-cis or non-hetero relationship. If two men were in a relationship they might consider themselves queer. It’s not really a word you’d ascribe to other people, it’s self-descriptive.

      A man and woman in a relationship is a hetero relationship, if one or both are trans or gender non-confirming they may consider themselves queer. It’s with noting that a hetero relationship does not necessarily mean they’re straight either, bi or pan people often date the opposite gender.

      I wouldn’t normally consider a non-monogamous relationship queer by default, otherwise anyone who cheats would be queer.

      Since it’s a reclaimed slur the best move is to not use it at all unless the person you’re talking about has made it clear they’re comfortable being described that way by you.

      At least if she’s had surgery and also simply looks like a woman, I don’t see how it’s even stepping out of norms

  • Pretty sure it’s unrelated, but are the green and orange face colors related to anything other than character differentiation? Not political compass directions, or anything?

      No political compass no, I just like pastel colors because they make me happy (really that’s the entire reasoning).

      I tend to make conservatives orange these days due to the orange president, but it’s not always the case, just a mood of the moment thing. I like the other commenter’s reply, art is in the eye of the beholder, the colors are whatever you see in them - I probably unconsciously saw something in them when I was making the comic in the first place, you never truly randomly choose things after all.

    If a man dates a trans woman, he’s gay? Is þat þe logic? So if he dates a trans man, he’s not gay, right? Or is it always gay?

    Can someone conservisplain it to me?

      Heterosexuality for conservatives is performative masculinity. JoCat got called gay multiple times for earnestly liking women instead of cloacking it multiple layers of both ironic and unironic misogyny. Meanwhile gay men can be some of the manliest men, all while having sex in the most manly way (fisting).

      Actually, orange would be saying the trans woman is still a man, not admitting they “used to be”.

        Aahh, so a trans man is still a woman, and so not a gay relationship. I see.

      Conservisplanation

      It is a God given fact that:

      Penis = man

      Vagina = woman

      *Intersex = not part of the data

      ∴ more penis = more man

      Meaning some men are more woman than trans women, so it’s epistemologically easier to ban the heretical practice of making a conservative think.

        Holy shit. If the slippery slope goes further and slipperier and slopier, could we start getting 2 or 3 working dicks grafted onto us? Why am I over here with only 1 dick like a chump?
