I’m fully on board with people having an existential crisis between their religion and their political beliefs.

I mean ok, but how does that help with the windshield wipers?

Oh don’t get me wrong, shed have found ways to be evil, I just don’t think she’d specifically do that.
Probably for being an overly opinionated dick.

That’s basically what I’m saying. Fuck that person but I won’t put emotional effort into it.

Not me. Someone that fucking toxic deserves the torture their head gives them.

I highly doubt Kamala would be using $100k missiles to kill venezuelan fisherman.

The worst part about aipac is that were fucking funding it.

I think you read my response through a filter. China has tons of Americans there doing just fine. Just don’t go public with any dissent and you’re fine. That’s not the case with the other places I mentioned.
Your initial post acted like there’s nowhere on earth that is just straight up dangerous for westerners and that’s purely fantasy. Yeah there are places Americans consider more dangerous than they are, I’ll give you that very minor point. However, there’s also a real legitimate reason that Americans pretend to be Canadian when traveling. And there’s a legitimate reason that places are hostile to Americans, but not Canadians. You’re just being ignorant with altruistic values, but it’s ignorance all the same.
Edit: or at least, that’s how I’m taking your ignorance, with a whole bunch of benefit of doubt.
There was one time I almost got in trouble with a gf at the time. I was driving and I saw an F430 driving the opposite direction, and I said “oh fuck, I’d kill to be inside you.” Apparently there was an attractive woman on the sidewalk at the same time, but on the opposite side. She said “EXCUSE ME?!?” Then as I looked at her from the opposite direction, she realized I didn’t notice the attractive girl, “you were talking about a car, huh?” I hadn’t noticed the girl, and she hadn’t noticed the car. I’ve never seen eyes roll harder than that.

Cyclist gets detained in Russia, basketball player detained in russia, tourist gets put into coma before dying for stealing North Korean poster, hikers detained in Iran. There are a lot of people with passports and these glowing ideas that were all the same, and going to places will broker friendships and change things. These may be enlightened ideals, but very, very stupid actions. Going to Mexico is fine but you better fucking be smart about it. Go with a large group and stay where you’re supposed to, you should be fine. My company had at least 2 security guards for anyone taking business trips to Mexico because they’ve had to pay ransoms in the past.
To act like going to dangerous places is enlightening is a very stupid take. Look at how many journalists died in Gaza, and those are a supposedly protected group who generally know what they’re doing. Extreme tourism is absolutely stupid in my opinion. I traveled enough while in the army and don’t currently have a passport, nor am I interested in getting one. If I ever leave this country again, it will be permanent.
It’s a blend of art and engineering. I don’t appreciate a lot of traditional art. Music, movies and TV, but not theater or paintings or most sculpture. But a good looking car just draws your eyes to it like an attractive person, but it’s rude to stare at people. It’s almost rude to NOT stare at a Porsche 911 GT3 RS.
Then there’s the beauty of the engineering. Thousands of parts working together to make one beautiful machine do what it’s supposed to do. It’s like how society is supposed to work. But instead of a GT3 RS, we’ve got a '96 Dodge neon with no working starter, only two working forward gears, a door that won’t open and electrical issues.
In today’s world it’s harder and harder to justify being a car guy, but I’ve loved em since I can remember.
Edit: I would add to that, the same feelings I have about cars being a blend of art and engineering, is the same reason I have a great respect for architecture. True great architecture is also a blend of art and engineering. You can replace the Porsche with Notre Dame, while the F-150 can be replaced with a modern factory. Utilitarian garbage.

Plus imagine a worn out 40 year old spider-man still pulling his punches after the 8th time fighting doc oc. “Man I am fuckin DONE with this shit!” One-punching through the back of his skull.

Spiderman is an entry level superhero. He’s easy to like quippy, legitimately good. So it makes sense to have Spider-Man be young. To give it that much more relatability to him. Most kids aren’t going to be into something like the punisher, and not should they be. That’s a level of psychology and darkness that no kid or teen should be at. Keep Peter young. As they grow, they’ll come to like other characters.

I engaged a lot early on, but later reddit I just lurked because you could say the same one time and drown in upvotes as another in another post and be flooded with hate a vitriol. It got to the point that it was like Twitter. The only safe places were like specific topics, how to, DIY, certain enthusiast pages. It had to be pretty niche to keep from wading in shit.
People were just mad and wanted to take their anger out on someone, even if they almost entirely agree with you, they’d hammer on one sentence of a 4 paragraph post until you just didn’t want to argue the point anymore. That occasionally happens here but it’s much more rare, and since there aren’t karma hunters looking for easy points here you don’t get the dog piling that you did there. By the end of my time there, you could make one unpopular sentence in a post and be hounded for it for DAYS.
Their base is just… Too stupid to see through the bullshit. They’ll eat anything shovel-fed to them by their trusted news. It even forces churches to the right, when they should lean left. These people trust Jessie waters and Greg guttfeld more than their own spiritual leaders unless they say the same thing.
That’s assuming we ever recover at all. That’s a really big if.
“across north America” sounds much more wide spread than 1 in America and 3 in Canada.
