“We should all agree the answer is not to defund the police, its to fund them. Fund them. Fund them.” - Joe Biden

As Kamala Harris blames everyone but herself for Donald Trump’s authoritarianism, the Democrats ignore the extent they’ve actively persuaded their base to move to the right on issue likes BLM & fracking – not to mention funding ICE. “This is your resistance party?”

    Dude cmon…

Several months ago the DNC had 1 single progressive voice (David Hogg) that pushed for unseating Neoliberals.

He was ousted from the party despite winning his election for DNC chair.

Is there anything more recent that shows them actually pushing progressivism?

David Hogg himself said he left the DNC not forced out and the current chair said he would have Hogg back in a heartbeat but his organization Leaders We Deserve conflicts with what the strategy agreed on moving forward would be, not influencing and picking candidates directly because they’re learning from fucking up with Bernie. Also the current leadership are backing Zhoran unlike previous progressive candidates. They still have a long way to go and I gave up on them long ago but they’re not the same as they were several years ago.

So, Hogg pushing progressive primary challengers openly (on the side) is a problem?

Pushing anyone in primaries yes. Apparently was a rule set by all the new members. Seems progressive candidates are still being supported to me. I see plenty running.

The issue was that previously, DNC officers/etc. pushed preferred candidates behind closed doors - that’s what the public had problems with and that’s why people resigned. The rule you are referring to was proposed by Ken Martin after David Hogg announced Leaders We Deserve and his intentions to push progressive primary challengers.

Seems like progressives are still getting ratfucked, as usual. David Hogg would’ve been more powerful internally in the DNC, and honestly, after the DNC ratfucked Bernie, progressives should have been allowed to gain a foothold internally and do whatever they want (within reason) to openly support other progressives, at least for a certain grace period.

It’s naive to expect that DNC officers will be truly neutral under this rule. This rule just served to block David Hogg.
