Example:
In America, recently came across “back-petal”, instead of back-pedal. Also, still hearing “for all intensive purposes” instead of “for all intents and purposes”.
You’re right, English is dumb, but I’d say 95% of the time it’s native English speakers I hear getting this particular one wrong.
