It’s easy to mistake and yes indeed it came before like the other examples. I think the difference is that the roman salute is already culturally not-ok to use, so still using it is an intentional sign. The Ukrainian slogan on the other hand is quite commonly used without bad intend (although most Ukrainians also do not know much about the fascist history of Bandera to be honest).
Bandera’s fascist gang also used a red and black flag very similar to the anarcho-communist one (and which you can see today in western Ukraine quite often) and I kinda think it is still ok for Anarchists to use that flag 😅
Things are often not so black and white 🤷♂️
Bad distro? They are in mine 🤷♂️
Fennec and Librewolf support logging into a Firefox account and thus sync. However, that obviously partially brings you back to the Mozilla problem…
Firefox Desktop doesn’t have a mobile version, they just call an entirely separate codebase for the mobile version Firefox as well. If you want a mobile alternative there is Fennec.
LibreWolf has the on-machine translation and when you disable some of the hardcore privacy defaults it is a quite good Firefox replacement.
What do you mean? It’s free health care! Isn’t that what y’all asked for? /s
Why Dutch? The easiest would be clearly to declare Canada a province of Greenland and have it thus become a part of Denmark 😎
Forgejo is working on federated github.
XMPP basically uses the same end to end encyption method as Signal, but due to it not being mandatory some things are easier but come with the footgun that you can accidentially disable it (but it is enabled by default in most modern xmpp clients).
Otherwise: since XMPP federates more servers can theoretically see some metadata, but since most servers are small and community run there isn’t a single big target like with Signal where you can siphon off all the metadata. So you can make arguments for both. XMPP: more meta data but decentralized, Signal: less metadata but all in one place.
Security researchers always look at a specific thing, usually the encryption only. The message encryption of Signal is great, the problem is all the rest of it that never gets scrutinized that closely.
I think we have the solution here.
They can go somewhere else and talk to each other there.
Censorship means that some higher authority wants some information not to be seen by certain people. The target of censorship is therefore the readers/listeners and not primarily the person writing/speaking. Hence if the readers/listeners don’t actually want to read/hear the hateful drivel that some person shouts into the void, removing it isn’t censorship but content curation.
Horrible site re-designs and soft-locking out mobile web-browsers with their nag-popups to install their spyware app. No, your site is not “better in the app” >:(
Most of human history…hmm checks notes… since the invention of capitalism about 400 years ago, yes.
Even serfs under feudal lords had significantly more free time and while basic child labor was common, it was mostly in family run farms.
