I don’t have a personal account but I live in near a tourist destination not far from the border and there were still plenty of BC license plates around this year (though a big drop compared to last year, and I don’t blame them). In other words a lot of people are still making it through apparently.

It was the “so others find you interesting” part I was reacting to. It sounds like that’s not what you meant, so don’t worry about it.

People worry far too much about what others think of them and what mold they should fit into.

Become proficient in one or more things so others find you interesting.

No offense, cause I think your message is good overall, but you contradict yourself in the same paragraph.

Trying to learn things so others will like you more isn’t a great way to do it. I know because I tried that. My self-love became conditional with that mindset, and there was always something else I could come up with I had to learn or change about myself before I could be lovable.

My old therapist called me out on it. He said there’s nothing wrong with pushing yourself to improve, but if you don’t balance that with unconditional self love it will simply lead to depression.

Reposts aren’t a problem. Just because you’ve seen it before doesn’t mean everyone else has also seen it before. Don’t worry about them and just move on.

They’ve gotten a lot of heat for that over the years. I can’t believe it’s even legal honestly.

It warms my heart to see all the Adobe hate and people switching to other things more and more. And I say that as a professional designer who has to pay my adobe tax every year to stay employed. Every person I see switch increases the chance I’ll get to kick them to the curb someday myself.

It’s their level of aggression towards fan projects that sets them apart I think.

Someone should make a reverse version of this story where the frog eats the scorpion midway across.

Money is unavoidable but you don’t have to do a typical career. Maybe you could try one of those English teaching jobs overseas, or be a nomad doing odd jobs here and there and traveling around. Lots of paths out there, and some might be more care free than a typical 9-5.

Have you considered becoming a student? You might be able to get financial aid. It might not cover 100%, but you’d get to be around young people also discovering themselves.

You definitely didn’t deserve what you got. I hope you can find a path that feels at least a little more like what you want to be doing.

I’m from the US and this also sounds extremely puritanical to me. I don’t know why this OP thinks they’re somehow being liberal about it.

I play so many video games I thought that sign was a choice dialog overlaid on the photo for a second. It’s so weirdly flat in the perspective. 😅

Bad policies don’t make it OK, and blaming the victims also doesn’t make it OK.

When I personally use it it means “OK, sounds good, I have nothing more to add but I read your message.”

I didn’t know there were other care-creatures besides bears
