It’s almost funny we are doing all of this to ourselves as a species to prevent what my species sees as the worst possible fate: humanism and global cooperation where no one is allowed to hoard enough resources to live as modern pharoahs while others starve and die of exposure.

We’d rather go extinct or to subsisting off hunting and gathering than forfeit our dreams of being the rich sociopaths inflicting ourselves on the masses. Earth has something for a species that toxic.

I don’t think Fred would be capable of that.

He’d be telling anyone who would listen that mistakes are just a part of learning, even as our tortured Earth starts making the very air we all breathe make the last humans lungs burn.

That’s why I certainly praise Fred, but could never subscribe to him. He had an unshakable conviction in the intrinsic decency of people. I’ve come to have conviction that the opposite is more often true.

I’m of the opinion that it, like most core social constructs in modernity, have been poisoned by capitalism and the glorification of avarice that comes with it, when those infected with avarice should have their society pelting rotten produce at them. A romantic partnership is supposed to be a commune of love and cooperation, not a good girl “marrying up,” not a good boy acquiring a “trophy.”

As long as we keep looking at each other through the prism of material gain and ambition and greed instead of love and intimate connection, few will be happy, whether alone or in a business partnership with a spouse that’s abandoned the millisecond “for worse” aka life inevitably arrives.

Dems are a far right party that only look centrist if you squint looking at them from inside fascist crazy town.

The Democrats, almost all of them save a couple of spoilers, aren’t the fascists themselves, but they’ve spent the last half century enabling the fascists. The Democrats don’t care about entire industries of confidence schemes murdering Americans like our deathcare industry, they don’t care about poor kids getting a good education, and they dont care about millions of our most betrayed neighbors dying in the streets. As the bad cop Fascists brag about how much they love the schaudenfreude of the pain those people are in, the good cop neoliberals shrug “free market forces, sorry! But I do affirm your identity, homeless dying/lifesaving healthcare denied person!”

That’s why there really isn’t hope until we collapse, hopefully by our hands in revolution and not by oligarch made climate change in a couple decades. Best, best, best, best case scenario, we have a real election in 3. 5 years and the Neoliberals gain power, do NOTHING to reign in the oligarchs, income inequity, or our sociopathic, murderous capital markets as they’re gleefully paid not to do. Fascism is the takeover of the state to serve big capital’s need for ever moar, and so the table will remain set to go back on the fascist march in just another 4 years.

These are the same fucknuts who dream that once all the “illegals” are gone, their innumerable American neighbor enemies, too many to list but all the groups that aren’t almost exclusively white, fake Christian, conservative, and pro capitalism exploitation will be forced to harvest their dinner in the fields for minimum wage or less for 12 hour days as they laugh in victory and mock our sunburn.

Won’t ever happen, but it’s what they believe is their endgame. In truth, a lot of farms will go under and a new great depression they have to suffer too will occur. But it’ll be our faults for refusing to work under the conditions undocumented migrants were invited to do under the lie big corpo pushed for psuedoslave labor that their children would have better opportunities as a result.

To me, a silver lining of this national collapse is that we’ll no longer be able to dupe swaths of desperate people in bad situations with drug gangs into coming here only to end up in another kind of bad situation with robber baron gangs.

This goes a long with some of the other silver linings of the world no longer being subject to our soft power bullshit propaganda machine. Bullshit, our number 1 international export, followed by tools of mass human murder, aren’t you proud? The world should have kicked us to the curb for our actions decades ago. We’ve been toxic since the Red Scare, and a straight up global poison since Reagan.
