I had my personal website on Xoom! Man, I wish I could find a copy of it. There’s nothing from it on the Wayback Machine.

I would love to recover my old GeoCities page somehow. I even remember the neighbourhood it was in. It was all about how cool hockey, Godzilla, and Warcraft 2 is

I really wish I was online during those times. Then again I was only 5 years old in 1995, so it’s not like I could do much but play games on Nickelodeon’s website at that point in life. It’s fun looking at web archives of old GeoCities sites!

They had chat rooms back then on the Nick site with games. Who knows the gross ass old men I talked to when I was 9.

In hear you! Man did i fucked around. Made a website with no real info, because what could i tell the world als a 12-15 year old.

Use notepad to write html. All different folders with home as the most important

It had a counter how often the site was visited (it was mostly me)

And the account name was .tk (?) because it was free

my home internet was out for a few days, discovering and browsing Neocities on a mobile hotspot limited to 256kbps was a vibe

It’s a dot org site, by the way. The dot com was malware at one point, so just be careful.

Edit: the dot com seems to no longer be registered, so I guess you don’t have to be that careful anymore lol

It saddens me that this is either meant to remind people of the way things were, or it teaches them a world they never knew.

1995 me would have been excited to see what crazy stuff is on the 2025 internet. 2025 me realizes it’s just a digital version of a carnival scam. Hot singles in your area is just the ring toss game. Give them your money, and then you lose.

The 90s were just factually a better time. Biggest controversy about our president at that time was that our president got blowjobs.

      Consensual blow jobs.

TimesSquare/Alley was the place to be for gaming news. And webrings were more useful than search engines.
