The ‘Israeli’ army has launched a criminal investigation into the leak of footage from the Sde Teiman detention camp, which shows a blindfolded, handcuffed Palestinian detainee being raped for approximately 15 minutes by a unit of ‘Israeli’ reservists.

The probe focuses on whether officials in the Military Advocate General’s (MAG) office which facilitated the leak to Channel 12, rather than targeting the perpetrators themselves. ‘Israel’s’ chief military prosecutor, Maj. Gen. Yifat Tomer-Yerushalmi, has taken leave amid the scandal.

When WikiLeaks blew open US corruption, war crimes and human rights violations they went after the whistle blowers, Julian Assange, and Chelsea Manning.

United States “The leader of the free world” and Israel “The only democracy in the Middle East” in action.

This is indeed horrific. It’s also almost standard practice for many nations, including the USA (my country), where whistleblowers are routinely put in prison instead of their information being evaluated seriously.

Please advocate for Nuremberg Trials for these Nazi atrocities. Justice for the victims of ethno-nationalist fascism is as necessary here just as it was after the holocaust.

I just cannot fathom the level of inhumanity it takes, even in war, to do something like this. To see a prisoner raped and think that the right course of action is to persecute the person who brought it to light. These people are evil.

Also what are your political leanings? Do you consider yourself a fascist? A capitalist? A communist?

I’m a Jew, and I’ve been speaking out against the occupation and genocide in Palestine since the beginning, and for decades before this current war.

Your bigoted generalizations only expose your insecurities. If you really believe this, then you haven’t met very many people who aren’t exactly like you. Or you’re simply incapable of empathy. Either way, this bullshit isn’t helpful.

They held a “right to r*pe rally” after the incident and won the public support victory. The actual r*pist is now doing a talk show tour in Israel. Ben Gvir said if their Hamas then they can be r*ped. With no due process or evidence at all they can say anyone is Hamas, arrest them and r*pe them. Israel and America or totally morally bankrupt.

Why are they putting Israel and Israeli in quotes? Are they implying that it wasn’t actually Israelis perpetrating this, or that it isn’t actually Israel performing the investigation? Or is this some political statement I’m not privy to?

Israel is a recently created country that only exists on stolen Palestinian land. It’s highlighting the fakeness of its existence. It’s occupied Palestine.

It matters as it’s relative to international law being established and the country explicitly existing on stolen land.

Well that’s just fucking stupid. The world has accepted Israel as a country for almost 80 years. You can hate them, you can say they never should have existed in the first place, but they are an actual country that actually exists. Even if they get completely wiped out and destroyed, every history book will still start out with “Israel was a country…”.

Pretending like they aren’t a country by putting quotes around their name comes across as extremely childish. Like a little kid who’s angry at their parents so they start calling them by their first name instead of “mom and dad”. Doesn’t matter how awful they are, doesn’t matter how much the child stomps their feet or what they say, it doesn’t even matter if they emancipate themselves later and legally change their name. Nothing will change the fact that they are the child’s, actual, literal parents.

If the author is really trying to pettily claim Israel isn’t a country by putting quotes around their name, then that’s just shitty journalism relying on personal emotions instead of unbiasedly presenting facts. And yes, I am aware that’s how most journalism is these days, but that doesn’t make it better.

Someone mentioned in another comment the author doesn’t acknowledge Israel as a country. Much like Israel doesn’t recognize Palestine as a country, but other nations do.

I despise the terrorist Netanyahu and the Israeli government, but I agree with your sentiment.

Even in that comment chain, it references that Jordan signed a peace treaty with them. So at one point they did, in fact, recognize it as a country.

They have a seat at the UN. They have passports recognized by every developed nation. They have treaties and engage in international trade with other nations. They fit every definition of a country. They are, in fact, a country.

Once again, just because you don’t like them and think they shouldn’t exist, doesn’t change their status as a country. I personally don’t like North Korea, but I don’t go around claiming it’s not a real country, because that would be a fucking stupid claim to make.

It would be because South Korea is the fake state established by the united states, North Korea is the rightful successor of the People’s Republic of Korea the first sovereign government of the korean peninsula since the japanese colonization.

Again, No. Algerian, by example, don’t recognize the State of Israel, and it’s not the only that not recognize it. I expect that they don’t accept their passports (but I can’t confirm it).

Jordan historically has had a strange relation with Palestine and the PLO. A pro-Palestine population with their elites and monarchy fearing them. Then, I will be not surprised if they changed their mind with the recognition, that was done just after the Oslo accords.

But my comment was to explain that I disagree with your claim that’s just fucking stupid to use quotes for ‘Israel’ and that the generalization you used to justify your position was not accurate.
