I don’t know about you, but I’ve never typed or said, “I love Hitler” during periods of economic anxiety in my life. I also didn’t repeatedly use variations of the N word multiple times in a group chat. I also did not wish to throw my enemies into gas chambers or delight in imagining torturing them. Then again, I’m not a Young Republican leader.
The political world is reacting to a major Politico piece that reveals thousands of private messages between young Republican leaders.
It ain’t pretty. In fact, it’s racist AF.

They are behaving just like their “King” and “Daddy” Donald Trump and their new martyr and saint, Charlie Kirk, whose legacy of hate is being honored today by Republicans with a “National Day of Remembrance.” Kirk, who said Black people were better off during segregation, was posthumously awarded the Presidential Medal of Freedom by Donald Trump. In honor of Kirk, the alleged free speech champion, Trump has revoked the visas of six foreign individuals who made critical, disparaging comments after his assassination.
Maybe he can honor Kirk’s wishes and release the Epstein Files? Alas.
The GOP’s racism is the norm, not the outlier. White supremacy, cruelty, hate, and bigotry are rewarded and encouraged, not criticized and shunned. Each time Trump doubles down on mocking his enemies, his base loves him even more. White nationalism is reflected in the policies helmed by Stephen Miller, who is unleashing masked, armed ICE agents to terrorize blue cities.
It’s time for the rest of us to call out the racist bullshit and stop worrying about civility and “both sides” political theater. Don Lemon of The Don Lemon Show joined me earlier today to discuss his reporting from Chicago and why he’s done playing nice to a Trump regime that wants to take us back to 1953. Later in the program, Lev Parnas, a former Trump fixer, jumped in to tell Democrats how they can use Trump’s weaknesses against him.

Several years ago, I wrote Don several times asking why he wouldn’t call out Palestinians’ genocide, several times. Crickets.
Yeah. An organization I worked with had us on his show when we organized against the J6 protesters.
Don has evolved since he left CNN, but the fact that he had to be fired for that transformation to occur, well, frankly that is a bit of bullshit. Don, like, even back in 2024 was still a water-carrying shitlib. And his instincts still break that way.
But also, because his instincts break that way, he gets access to a kind of people who need the truth presented in a particular way.
Red and Blue MAGA both are weak racists.
Stephen Miller is a horrific Nazi, who is still struggling to keep up with Biden and Obama’s deportation numbers. And both sides of that aisle see no value in Arab lives whatsoever.
