Ah 2013, the year I got my first real job after grad school. That was fun. I miss being 27 - I didn’t have the “Oh shit, time is running out and soon I’ll be old!” feeling quite as much, although back then I did worry about turning 30.

And speaking of the past, does anyone else feel like it’s sort-of still 2020? 2019 was long ago but everything after the start of the pandemic seems like it has happened so quickly.

It derailed everything. I went from college age young, and “I just need a job” to “nothing can redeem this, I just want to get life over with”.

Yeah, thanks. Trying to at least not kill myself, become normal, and find tranquility to live out my life in. Ambitions are pretty much gone.

Normal is overrated, just find things that are comfortable for you. I wanted to change the world in my teens, now I’m just happy to have (just barely) managed to buy a house. If you can’t accomplish dreams it’s okay to work on stability in which to enjoy hobbies instead.

I would not care about being normal, if anything else in this country would not cause you so so much trouble. Even solving problems in a different way, makes my co-workers outraged.

Well, reality kept happening, but we arejt super involved. We font perceive it, and certainly don’t act on it directly as ourselves.

‘Eddington’ or the entire earth situation and politics of ‘echopraxia’ and fun guidelines. ‘The matrix’ if you want something easier to grasp and less dystopian.

I was taken aback when I heard someone I expected better from use “matrix”, although it was used in a “some people call it x” context and not the regular one dripping with… let’s call it baggage.

Outhouse Perilous is an absolutely spectacular username.
