This “small group of Colorado Pastors and faith leaders from small churches across the state are doing all we can together to oppose these assaults on our people’s God-given liberties.” By which they mean they were lying to people about what the bill said because nothing in their religion ever taught them that lying is bad.

Jesus was a humanist. I can imagine him, Buddha, and Carl Sagan being very good friends.

My point is, you are so preoccupied with labels that the actual ideals and behavior aren’t part of your equation. Therefore your analogy is unrelated to the reality.

I’m curious… do you think it’s more likely that the historical jesus was :
    a) resurrected Lazarus and himself from the dead, and gave the power to raise others from the dead to his followers, or
    b) was a charlatan faking all that for money and attention?

(Fun Fact they don’t teach in Sunday School: the gospels weren’t written by anyone who actually knew him. Probably not even by people that spoke the same language.)

If there was a historical Jesus, he was likely a wandering rabbi whose life and actions have been heavily mythologized. Personally, I like the idea that Lazarus was unconscious - maybe in a coma - and when Jesus showed up he noticed immediately and berated everyone for being idiots.
