As a European atheist - it is of interest. The report might shed light on things I’ve seen happen in my own country. Progressive ideals being rolled back in the face of religious pressure. People being silenced when they criticize religion. Religious extrajudicial executions.
Christianity is wrong. Islam is wrong. Judaism is wrong. I know this.
I am not French, but I feel a huge gratitude that they are championing my rights to be free from religion. It is freedom from religion that allows me to post this comment without fear.
According to many religions, my very thoughts are blasphemous. Religious texts either outright state that I should be killed, or deem me subhuman.
Organized religions are designed to infiltrate, spread, control and finally dominate. They’ve been around much longer than modern secular democracies. They mustn’t be underestimated.
