No. Haggling has zero appeal and makes me feel like an asshole. I want a set price that is predefined, and I want the purchase process to have minimal friction. I don’t want to have to argue with someone when I buy things.

Breaking Bad. I made it part way through the first season before giving up. Everyone loves that show but I just couldn’t enjoy it.
I feel like if you show up at a school and attempt to gain access to children via deception you should be arrested. You have to know what you are doing is wrong. It seems self-evident that it’s inherently immoral and unethical behavior. Is it not a crime?
Raised “Christian” in the evangelical/born again/southern baptist milieu. Strip mall churches and unaccredited schools with unqualified teachers and Bob Jones text books. Became atheist as soon as I was able to think rationally. The thing that did it for me was the hypocrisy, which became too obvious to ignore.
Utah is like another country to me.
Utah. Other than the staff at a restaurant everyone was rude. I think a motel manager may have lied about not having rooms, at the very least he made it clear he didn’t like us.
If I’m understanding correctly, you’ve not been selling the customer the additional feature but they think you have been and now your boss wants you to actually start billing them for the feature that they mistakenly think they are getting already but without actually providing the feature to them? Assuming that is correct it really does sound like fraud. Generally you can’t knowingly sell something you aren’t capable of selling but still collect the money. Even if the victim mistakenly thinks they got what they paid for you are still defrauding them of the money. I’m not a lawyer but I think if you do this you may end up needing a lawyer. Is there anyone else in the company besides your boss that you could talk to about this? The more people know about what is going on the harder it will be for your boss to pull of whatever he is trying to pull off. If something like this was going on where I work I would be documenting everything and sharing it with whoever would look at it, starting with my bosses boss. I wouldn’t make any accusations though, just present the facts and express your concerns.
I am surprised Vance wore his pajamas to lunch. He looks like he lost his luggage.
Every discussion I’ve had with someone who said this has led me to expect ignorance. I think its something people who don’t know much like to say because they think it sounds good.
I think you missed their point. Contemporary US style libertarianism has taken over the term, historically it meant something very different. They are arguing that people should start using the word again to mean things other than US style libertarianism. They are very obviously not confused about what libertarianism actually is given their knowledge of the history of the term; ironically it seems like you are unaware of this history and are doing something akin to what you accuse OP of doing.
I do agree though that people are generally very ignorant about this sort of stuff and often latch onto words to describe their politics without any genuine understanding of what those words actually mean.
One of the driving forces behind this phenomena is that business types value having that reoccurring revenue on the books more than “normal” revenue. If you have two companies with identical revenue but one of them gets it from customers locked in on a subscription, that company will be valued significantly higher. If you’re an exec or a big investor who owns a lot of stock in a company then you’re effectively incentivized to push the company towards that subscription based reoccurring revenue model because it will boost the stock price and make you richer.

I thought it was a pond on a ranch and she was drunk driving and the primary issue was the doors wouldn’t open so she drowned in the car? There was also recently a Cybertruck that crashed and burst into flames and the doors wouldn’t open so the teenagers inside were burned to death in what could have otherwise been a survivable crash.
I would hope so, if there’s lead in the water the only way to avoid it is by filtering it out. Do kids in your neighborhood have lots of behavioral problems and/or seem unusually dumb?
Not an expert but I do have a well. You definitively don’t want to be drinking more lead than the EPA limit. I would get a filtration system installed ASAP and not drink from that well until it is installed, and especially don’t let children drink the leaded water because they are more susceptible to brain damage. If anyone has been drinking this water it would be a good idea to get tested for lead exposure ASAP.
Waking up to find my partner dead. I used to leave for work while she was still deeply asleep so every morning before I kissed her goodbye I would have that moment of terror that when my lips touch her she would be cold.
I don’t agree because it is too simplistic. Its not necessarily wrong, but it is misleading because reality is a whole lot more complicated.
I have about a bunch of plants that should fruit for the first time this year.
I used to live across the street from a relatively popular tourist attraction and would occasionally get tourists standing in front of my windows and commenting on things in my apartment. Once my girlfriend and I were eating breakfast in front of an open window and someone tried talking to us about how expensive something was in our apartment. Besides that the only regular rudeness was groups acting like they own the sidewalk. Usually its large families but I do remember one time what looked like a Russian oligarch trophy wife surrounded by an entourage of stereotypical body guards that had people swearing at them because they were not letting anyone else use the sidewalk as they headed for the tourist attraction.
