/u/outwrangle before everything went to shit in 2020, /u/emma_lazarus for a while after that, now I’m all queermunist!
Yeah I think the focus should be on technological sovereignty, not abstinence. We need control over our data, control over our software, control over our devices, control over our hardware, and through these things we can gain control over our lives while still accessing these extremely useful tools. We need our own search engines, our own operating systems, our own applications, our own email, our own social media, our own video hosting, etc etc. We can never go back, the only way out is through.
This is extremely hard and expensive, though. It’ll require mass organization of millions of people, we can’t do it as individuals.
No he doesn’t. He can just make shit up! That’s what he’s doing to send soldiers to US cities, after all.
The hardware is specialized for chatbots, it’s not just something they can plug-and-play for other use cases. That means using it for other computing tasks is even less efficient per kWh and per litre of water, which will make it hard to justify the resource requirements.
Surely some of this hardware can find new life, but assets will be stranded.
The most optimistic take I’ve seen: AI is a drain on the entire economy that sucks up all investment and this is why the rest of the economy is basically in a recession. Once the bubble pops, investors will flood back into the real economy and correct the problem.
I’m not optimistic.
I half expect this to be another pump-and-dump scheme - he tells the insiders he’s going to make this announcement so they can trade on the tariff threat before everyone else, then tells the insiders he’s going to walk it back so they can trade on the relief before everyone else. All the insiders can make money both on the downswing and the upswing while the rest of us suffer.
Wow, you managed to do something you could have done without AI, but used more resources to do it.
She understood the assignment. 🇺🇸 🤡
Israel does not have a right to exist.
You’re just asserting that we lose support when we express our support for Palestinian resistance, but I don’t think we do. Why do you think the “do you condemn Hamas?” ritual happens? It’s a tool to demobilize people. It’s a trick they use on you to separate you from the actual resistance and leave you alienated from the struggle.
Condemning Hamas never helps anyway. Never ever never. Every fucking time they just call you a Hamas supporter anyway. So, why bother?
Give Zionists zero ground and never compromise.
On the one hand she’s clearly a CIA asset that wants Venezuela’s oil privatized, and this is in the buildup to a US invasion. On the other hand I like to think Trump is fuming that he still hasn’t gotten his prize and that he’ll abandon the invasion idea just to punish Venezuela’s opposition for taking his prize.
The government cracked down on people protesting against Israel and so the protests stopped. That’s it. That’s the whole reason.
If our support didn’t matter they wouldn’t have proscribed Palestine Action or deported college campus occupation organizers. Our support matters, the problem is that we were defeated.
Shall we support resistance against imperialism, even if it’s a fascist one that would oppress or shall stand next to every oppressed ?
Ever heard of supporting the lesser evil? I bet that’s the basis for how you vote. Just apply that to geopolitics.
Israel is a fucking crusader state, but you won’t acknowledge that thousand years of history because its inconvenient.
Israel is a settler colony and obviously doesn’t have a right to exist. By trying to hold contradictory ideas at the same time you have ended up siding with the occupation, and you support Israel keeping the land it already stole when it was created.
Beyond being a settler colony they’ve also demonstrated their society as irredeemable. At this point? It’s obvious saying Israel has a right to exist is indistinguishable from saying Nazi Germany has a right to exist.
You only proved my point. You both sides’d yourself into supporting the Nakba.
No, you actually can’t. There are only two sides, the occupation and the resistance. There’s no secret third option you can support to feel morally cozy and superior to the people actually fighting for their lives. You have to actually pick a side, and if you try to choose neither you just end up supporting the side with all the power i.e. Israel.
If you don’t support the resistance and their revolutionary actions, you support their extermination.
I’m coming for that toothbrush 😈
This is bad analysis.
They’re gonna do a false flag on Venezuela because they want to destroy a left-wing government. The fact that it will distract from the Epstein files is a positive side effect, but they are enacting an agenda beyond it.
Obviously Eastern civilization was also shaped by the crusades? I’m just describing the historical forces that lead us to this point and pointing out that Islamophobia isn’t the “new global currency of power” as claimed by the OP. It’s as old as the West as a sociopolitical force of history.
In different historical conditions where the Caliphate conquered the Americas instead of Christendom the exact opposite would have happened, maybe Europe would have been colonized by Asia, but that’s not the world we live in.
But now the Caliphate and the Ottomans are gone. The West conquered the world and colonized the East, so hatred of Islam has become normalized by the hegemon because the West rules the world. But it’s not new.
Except Israel is the 51st state, and it along with the other 50 states really are the real enemy of humanity.
