I am against animal agriculture for the same reason I am against sexism, racism, ableism, classism and homophobia.

The circumstances of a creatures birth does not dictate what it is “meant for”, every one deserves to live happy, healthily and with dignity, but some simply want to live.

  • Absolutely agree that Brianna needs to log the fuck off, de-center herself as any sort of repetitive of the community and sort out her own internalized transphobia. She isn’t even close off the hook.

This is not a matter of innocent ignorance. This was a matter of willfully ignoring all of the people telling you what would happen, complete with historical record.

100%. I agree completely. She ignored the broader trans community and perpetuated harm, all for selfish self-congratulatory reasons. But what I’m saying is that she recognized the futility and is starting to listen. This no “forgive and forget”, but we can’t condemn her for admitting she was wrong.

I just don’t want others with misguided bigoted talking points thinking that they are trapped in that echo chamber.

  • It’s easy to dunk on how wrong she used to be, Brianna absolutely and clearly was. But now that even she agrees, it’s not super helpful to mock her about it.

There are a oodles of different social pressures to conform for trans women, I truly understand her motivation. Girl let her internalized transphobia take the wheel and went look for nonexistent middle ground. Especially early in transition it’s alluring to be *one of the good ones" and get a very specific type of applause for it.

We need to recognize that Bri didn’t have to admit her faults, glad she did, but even on far more trivial issues most folk struggle. I’m glad she got here, and I look forward to her being better advocate for our rights. But her past should only be as an example for others, not a crudgel to mock her previous bargaining.

Welcome Hon, glad to see ya. ♥️

  • I worked for a newspaper overseeing delivery drivers, one of which was regularly hotboxing his car while waiting for his route to be printed. He wasn’t subtle and he was always a little out of it. My bosses said it wasn’t our problem because technically he was a contractor, not an hourly employee. His route took place around 2 AM so with empty roads it hadn’t really been a problem, but I didn’t want indirect blood on my hands when it invariably DID become a problem.

So I called in a suspicious driving report after he left the warehouse one night. The next night his route was being done by someone else. I worry that I caused him long term trouble by involving the police, but I try to balance that against the potential trouble of a crash.

Idk, I don’t regret my choice, but I do still feel conflicted when I think on it.

  • I smoked for a couple years but gave it up when a new GF complained. I know I’m lucky af for this… but I quit just over a single weekend. Physically it wasn’t a big deal for me. I only miss the social aspect of meeting new random strangers. This was about a decade ago and don’t have any cravings at all.

Booze? I used to binge drink in my 20s, not healthy mentally or physically, but once I hit 30 it felt like my tolerance dissapered and hangovers lasted days. Only on the rarest occasions do I have a single cocktail at a restaurant. Like maybe every 6 months or so.

Do a fair amount of CBD and CBN for pain relief, and around bedtime THC, but all that is edibles.

  • Context matters. If it’s alongside some alt right bigotry, then yes. If it’s just a dumb joke about frens and feels, then not at all.

Just how the Christian cross can be a hate sign or a sign of community. In vacuum these are just symbols a collection of shapes and color. Much like these individual pictographic letters combine to make words and sentences. When pepe is used to convey hate, then he is quite literally a hate symbol, but not in any other.
