I get about 10-15 spam calls a day, but I do have two business lines forwarded to my personal phone too. If I do answer a call from a number I don’t know because I’m expecting a call, and it turns out to be spam I just hang up immediately.

When people are told to change their behavior, sometimes their response is just to say fuck off. How could we possibly expect compliance without codifying what they should comply with? How would you deal with conflicting values? As much as governments are the single largest cause of mass murders and deaths, this is the one thing they are good for: defining parameters.

Has there ever been anywhere in recorded human history where this wasn’t true?

How can you have a society where everyone is equal and free if you don’t define the right of individuals to be equal and free? There are always people and organizations who would give preference to their tribe, whether for well-intentioned or nefarious reasons.

I could 100% live on this diet. It is probably almost as healthy as I eat now.

Guilty of the crime of being poor most of the time.

Crop pickers should make $20+/hr, as should everyone. Relying on underpaid illegal labor forces only helps other corporations to underpay their workers too. We need living wages.

Unfortunately there’s almost nothing left once you’ve blocked all that. I’m close to leaving. No one will miss me, whatever. Occasionally I have a nice interaction though.

Yeah I’ve been in Ohio for a couple of decades now. I travel to the Smokies and Rockies as often as I can, also MI and PA but work has been a challenge recently. I have lived out West and internationally and in the Midwest. I’ve learned to not let my location get in my way too much. My ice axe and crampons still call to me sometimes though.

We don’t have bus stops here so people do a lot of communal moaning in shops and markets.

It doesn’t snow enough. I own snowshoes. I also like to winter camp. I just got back from some time on the shore of lake Erie. I’d love to do winter mountaineering but I don’t live near mountains and haven’t been able to take time off of work for travel.

In my area the soup kitchens are manned by, and frequented by almost exclusively Trump voters. It’s deep red.

I can’t even read my phone without reading glasses and when I’m off of work I often purposely don’t bring them with me. I’d be asking about their accessibility accommodations.

Eh, young people are racist too. The rules always change, give it 20 years and there will be tons of stories about how racist millennials are. It won’t be about GenX. Nobody remembers we exist.
