Nah not if you’re right wing. Then it’s one of the first places to start cutting budgets, together with Healthcare and elderly care. You want people to have less education, makes them easier to manipulate and keep under control.

I’d say that it’s not the media’s job to inform us anymore, it’s more to influence us and keep us docile. There are some small publications who still stick to informing people and telling the truth as objectively as they can but those are becoming fewer and fewer.
It sucks that it is this way but in a society where aunt Jo on Facebook can have a bigger audience spouting her nonsense then the local newspaper it is the way it is.
And somehow it still works. Let that sink in…
Let me preface this by saying I haven’t read the article so i can’t say anything about this specific case.
As for your comment, I agree. It’s one thing to have an e-bike that goes slightly faster than regular cycling speed (20-25 km/h). However, where I live (the Netherlands) there’s have “fatbikes” now, basically the current generations scooter which is given to children at a much younger age and not regulated at all. No helmets, no protective clothing, no minimum age, nothing. Those things can go faster than 30 km/h and it’s somewhat common to tune them to go 40 km/h or more. That is a ridiculous speed for a 12 year old to take part in traffic with.
You’re going faster than a car driving to a neighborhood area here. There’s a reason why cars can only go 30 and somehow you can go 40? Add to that the brazenness of a young kid and you have a pretty dangerous cocktail. Fatbikes formed a large share of the traffic accidents last year and there doesn’t seem to be any sign of this changing with the government we have here being constantly in crisis or getting ready for another doomed election.
Yeah, just waiting for the record profits of the coffee importers and processing plants.
I’d say you see the same thing with bikes, especially in the big cities. They cycle everywhere and go through red lights all the time. However, a bike is a lot less dangerous than a car (unless it’s an electric bike that can go very fast), which makes it slightly less of an issue in my eyes.
It’s because for many people, driving a car comes with a certain entitlement. And why wouldn’t it? Especially in the US, where drivers are fully accommodated to with infrastructure, crazy roads and all kinds of drive through stuff?
It’s even noticeable here in the Netherlands. Lots of people I know that are very kind, mellow people turn into insane road ragers the moment they get into their car.
Merrick Garland is honestly the worst, in a way everything that’s going on right now is (in)directly caused by him. He could have been quicker getting Trump jailed over the Jan 6 stuff, he could’ve done more with these files… He just did a shit job in general.
Good thing they implemented even more tax cuts for the rich, coming soon™…
But obviously not too soon, otherwise they can’t blame the dems for it.
I’ve been considering making the step myself since the deadline is approaching and I feel my pc isn’t at the end of its lifespan yet. How would it work with games and other stuff I have installed? Would I need to reinstall everything? Or would it be able to pick up the game installations seamlessly?
I’ve even seen it a lot that people don’t even reply to “how are you”, they just start talking about something else. So weird…
They’ll just lie about it and make their supporters think they did something good.
Here you go, straight from our friends at Fox News… link
Lol that blonde demon bitch of a press secretary even had the balls to pull out that line during the announcement yesterday… Insanity
Good thing Trump gives zero fucks about the climate and environment then /s
Yes, but any country that counter tariffs the US makes Apple products more expensive while other (non us based) companies don’t have that problem.
Well maybe this time it should be quicker than that. The annoying orange will never come to his senses because he doesn’t have any.
Lol wtf, over here in Europe it now says “Gulf of Mexico (Gulf of America)”…
Do you really think it’s likely this will happen? I think hell just start throwing a tantrum and maybe symbolically apply some tariffs.
Or, get this: make it so people don’t take the car. Most of the accidents that involve serious injury or death involve cars or some other fast, motorized vehicle. Why not make more bike and pedestrian infrastructure? I also live in the Netherlands and even here I’d say there are very different approaches based on which city/town you’re in. I really wish they’d make my city more accessible with public transport, there are certain routes where taking public transport to another part of town takes almost 2-3 times as long as taking a car. Why is that? Why not fund public transport and non-motorized traffic infrastructure even more?
