Was raised roman-catholic but got disillusioned pretty quickly. I was fairly religious in elementary school but by the time I was 14, I was agnostic/atheist.

Partially because my parents aren’t religious (my mum is from the GDR, so she didn’t grow up with religion and my dad seceded from church before I was even born) and even my grandma, who was the religious one (albeit never very strongly, compared to American catholics. More a „goes to church on religious holidays“ type of person), drifted away from church quite a bit after all the child-rapist priest shit that was uncovered at the time.

By now (mid 20s) I’d probably consider myself agnostic. Can’t prove there is no higher power but also, if there is, we wouldn’t know what religion – if any – is right anyways. It’s probably not christianity though.

Yea, I don’t generally disagree. Especially if you‘re someone who plays games for hundreds of hours, instead of dozens.

But $100 is still a lot of money for a lot of people. I‘d have to save up for months for that (I’m a trainee and have less than 1000€ per month for rent, food, internet, gas, etc.), so I rather wait until I can get games cheaper.

Eh, there‘s some truth to either one. Game development is expensive and pricing hasn’t kept up with inflation ($60 in 2010 are almost $90 today). But also, games are ridiculously expensive at full price, especially in todays economy and especially if they’re as badly received as Skull and Bones, while Nintendo games are at the very least usually pretty decent.

I’d recommend voting with your wallet and only buying games on sale or used. Just wait a little. (Or pirate them, if you can live with not supporting the developers at all).

It’s bullshit but it’s business, I suppose. In the past, customers have complained because colleagues arrived in a car from a higher status competitor brand.

Can you really get rid of it by now? Who’d buy it? Most people can’t just throw away a car, even if it’s associated with a fascist.

Talked about that with my boss recently. He drives a Tesla (has been for a few years) and he says, while he’d like to replace it with something less controversial (besides his personal opinions, also because some of our customers are large German car manufacturers and they do have strong opinions) but, he says, there’s no comparable electric car in a comparable price range (of what you’d get for a 3 or 4 year old model Y) and business isn’t doing so well that he could afford sinking money into something that drives as well and as far on a charge, so for now he’ll have to keep his Tesla and an eye open for a good deal on something better.

So I’d say, if you bought a Tesla within the last year or so, you should’ve known better. If you bought one some time before and want to get rid of it, it’s not always that easy, if you actually need a good car to replace it with.

I don’t like him. He’s angry at everything and his videos are a chore to watch. I also feel like he’s sometimes a bit out of touch (I don’t like ads or paying for digital content either, but if no one pays for it, it‘ll stop existing) and a bit pessimistic (yes, companies aren’t your friends, but not everything you perceive as negative is done out of malice, sometimes people are just not thinking stuff through).

However, I do appreciate him as a right to repair activist.

Rey is a wonderful example here. Your acquaintance dislikes Rey because she’s a woman. I (and a bunch of other people) dislike Rey because she’s terribly written. If you exchanged her for a man he would still be terribly written. But of course, that legitimate criticism is often lumped in with people crying „woke“ at the sight of a female protagonist.
