There’s always a logical point where making more money becomes less efficient than making other people poorer.

There’s a bit of another layer to it. The n-word is used as a credible death threat in America. It is a word that has been used to dehumanize and declare a person can be killed and lynched without consequence --because that is the legacy of our country and that word. People calling people n-words historically have been able get away with actual murders–and they know it.

It’s the same way a Nazi saluting is someone demonstrating they don’t value human life and support genocide. But it is still outlawed in Germany and Austria because the action carries with it much deeper implications there.

Historically when the Whig Party fell a part over slavery they were replaced by the Republican party. Many Whigs became Republican. Lincoln was Whig.

The current GOP’s power basely relies on the Democratic Party being so incapable. A party with focused goals that aren’t just derived or borrowed from the GOP will likely break this inertia, as is so needed.

Kibble bags tend to be the best storage space but they need to seal closed. A bag in a sealed container is your best bet for maintaining fresh.

The fats and essential vitamins and nutrients are sprayed onto kibble and that’s the first thing exposed to go bad. A little subtle rancidity is detectable to cats.

If you dump kibble into a plastic pin: thosr rancid fats can leach into the plastic and remain there tainting all subsequent kibble with at least the odor of rancidity.

If a bag sits open unsealed for a week it’ll be stale as all hell and much less healthy.

Though it is imporant to weigh that people are going to measure the increases in costs against what they believe to be the cause, accurate or not.

Right now any cost increases are going to be blamed on tariffs no matter how (in)accurate that may be to any given price increase.

The overall narrative has to change or Amazon has to eat the price increases before this scenario feasibly plays out. Currently this just focuses on the tariffs further.

I realized it had been a while since I read about it so I did a little trip down memory lane and can correct a few points: he got 10 years, but had faced 30. Also the circumstances of the firearm possession were more different than I recalled: Coffee wasn’t allowed to have one and Rittenhouse just smuggled one.

She was trying to follow eight years of Obama that had primed an electorate for a radical change candidate. She was not going to be that and in fact personified that her Party would unfortunately not be the one to change.

The MOVE bombings are a good example of how deep the cowardice of racism is.

Hell the KKK largely formed in response to Americans getting military training in World War 1.

One the same day Rittenhouse got off, a guy who defended himself against this exact thing was acquitted. But since the weapon he used wasn’t properly registered to him (a charge which the judge for Rittenhouse shrugged off and tossed on a whim) that guy got 30 years in spite.

They’ll find the loopholes to achieve the desired outcome.

I had a friend who went through a whole arc of wanting to be a cop. She had pretty much an identical experience I had to squint at the name and photo to be sure this wasn’t a post she had made.

Being a woman was a huge setback from the get-go anyway, casual police brutality training notwithstanding.

She never quite got my criticism of wanting to be a cop (She wanted to fix policing by example) nor my lack of surprise when she spent a year wasting her time being tested and strung along by cops who were never going to hire her. (You have a master’s degree FFS! You’re not what they’re looking for!)

One that doesn’t take corporate donations would be start.

Another method is 3rd parties forming locally as grassroots organizations and then forming a coalition party to back 3rd party candidates on the national level.

Sort of how you have a few caucuses in the Democratic Party like the Farm-Labor Part in Minnesota, or Independents who caucus with the Democrats like Bernie who could be peeled off to back a 3rd party of even just flatly Independent candidates.

Although it does appear that living in them was better than living in a tent and perhaps led to living in a better housing situation? Unless the place was demolished after you moved out, it would be better than a tent for someone else.

Bad housing is better than no housing, largely in part that it helps people get out of the inertia and deathspiral of homelessness.

There’s a minimum a society should provide, and public housing at least can satisfy that.

What is obscured in the strict ‘line up’ and ‘line down’ interpretations of the market is a tremendous amount of money churning through different hands. It invariably transfers to the wealthiest hands who are most capable of absorbing losses and taking risks. The vast body of wealth that is lost in high market volatility is… retirement and pension funds.

The Dow Jones could stay flat and billions of dollars could still be transferred into the hands of a dozen people.

As a sweatshop, where civilized at all.

And that mostly went for Asia as a whole in the average American portrayal.
