Really depends on your stage in life, your mindset, and what drives you. I live in a fairly rural area, within a 1 mile radius of my house there are probably less than 100 people living. That being said i have fairly limited access to natural nature, the forests here are artificial and it definitely shows in their subpar natural beauty. But thats besides the point im trying to make.

Im planning on getting an apartment on the outskirts of a nearby city because i have an emotional need for socialization that is not being fulfilled here. My neighbors are all right wingers and i generally dont judge people for living in trailers but GOD DAMN do my neighbors make it difficult. It seems every day there is what i can only deacribe at trailer trash drama. Between my elderly drunk and methed up neighbors getting into fistfights, to my neighbors openly asking if ive seen their escaped cock fighting roosters, to three of my neighbors seperately being arrested for child molestation, to letting their dogs maul anything that moves so their dogs are contantly being put down, to flying a dont tread on me flag, two trump flags, a thin blue line flag, and another flag i dont recognise with trump face on it, all while complaining that the democrats are taking their foodstamps so they can put it into the undeserving welfare system. I have come to the conclusion that i simply do not want to interact, even in passing, with any of my neighbors, but i need to socialize with someone. My goal is to move to a city where it is socially unacceptable to behave that way for fear of someone beating your ass for being a nazi or child or animal abuse. That, and midnight walks massively help my life long depression, and I romantisize the neon lights and street lights of the big city. Id LOVE to walk down the local river path with all the lights.

Spammers go for the easiest targets. If you do stuff like this, they might redesign their system to make it LESS likely to send to you. Keep in mind theyre targetting the elederly, mentally handicapped, and the emotionally desperate. They specifically DO NOT want to target the educated, technologically literate, and those that will waste their time. By attempting to technologically limit them from their scams, you make it more difficult for them to target you and it makes it obvious theyre not worth your time.

Its not about making yourself scam proof, its about making yourself an unappealing target.

(This all applies to scam emails, dunno if it has any effect if the goal is phishing but i would imagine so. If they can phish 5 people in the time it takes to phish you, youre no longer their target.)

Edit: this is why scam emails look obviously scammy, with misspelled words and grammarical errors. Its not a mistake, its an attempt to preemptively weed out people who want to waste their time

Totally personal, but I have to take a moment to thank you because you just improved my life dramatically. I’ve been going through a lot and the last ten years have effectively turned me into the worst version of myself. It is incredibly difficult to justify doing anything in a world this shitty. But you, unprompted, pointing out that I live in the worst place possible gives me a little hope that maybe, just maybe, life isnt supposed to be like this everywhere.

Also, living in Oklahoma, I can tell you with 100% certainty of this: Trump has changed nothing in these peoples minds. They believe that Trump is ordained by God. You cannot argue with this people. There is NO logical train for them to follow. I dont think people realised how serious Trump was when he said he could shoot someone on wall street and he wouldnt lose support. Trump is single handedly the most dangerous person in this country, because half of the country believes he can fundamentally do no wrong. If Trump does it, its not illegal. I would even go so far as to say its dangerous to court these people. They have established that they do not fit in society, they use “God” as justification for breaking legal and societal rules. The precident here is wildly dangerous: but not making an example out of Trump that theocracy will not be tolerated, we are signing the death knoll on democracy.

Democracy is built on discussion and compromise. These people are physically incapable of doing so, because to do so would misalign them with God and condemn their eternal soul to damnation. There is fundamentally nothing you can do to get these people unbrainwashed, beacuse to unbrainwash them is to send them to Hell.

Counter point: uh, yeah they did? A couple years after windows 8 came out they stopped supporting windows xp and 7. Afaik they dont support the latest versions of directx either, so there is literally no way way to run a modern game on anything prior to windows 8. Even windows 8 is no longer supported, meaning it doesnt get new antivirus updates and merely connecting it to the internet is a security risk for the device and the home network. Theres a reason you can right click on any program and select “run in compatibility mode” for legacy systems. And most of the time that compatability mode doesnt work either.
