Ypu know what I don’t hear on lemmy? People complaining that crypto world consumes more energy than AI world and one of those is far more useless in grand scheme of things.

I have both heard and said that crypto uses a lot of energy on Lemmy.

1. Get a strip of toilet paper.
2. Lay it such that it is over the poo on the edge and also in the water.
3. Because you recently flushed and the end is in water, the entire strip of toilet paper should now be wet and clinging to the edge.
4. Flush again. The toilet paper gets sucked and/or pushed down and should get the poo with it.

This but unironically. I’ve always viewed them as manifestation fear of nobles/oligarchs. I’ve seen people compare zombies to things like over consumption and consumerism which I’m less convinced by.

MSYS2 is odd, I could never figure out how to set it up a sort from the one with Git. When I was more of a power user I used Cygwin. Babun is cool but unmaintained last I remember, and is just Cygwin with some enhancements.

As much shit as MS gets (and rightfully so) around 2019 they began turning their reputation around for dev stuff. They’ve lost all that good will though.

Apart from a cluster at the top I see a bit of a curve. Not much.

Economics and psychology will always be inherently fuzzy because of the whole free will thing.

The idea that a god, with their infinite wisdom, would be upset about you “killing” a “baby” inside of an essentially dead woman to spare the child from having severe birth defects and to actually allow the family to move on and mourn is… Wow. Something else. But hey, that’s Christianity I guess.

I thought WSL2 had a few specific advantages over WSL1, something about disk writes and/or Docker? But yeah, WSL1 was such a cool concept. My understanding is they implemented all the syscalls and API in it so it’s basically native.

I tried to use them, as I do most tools like that. On Windows I have always stuck with the MSYS environment that Git for Windows gives you. It’s easy enough to work with and has most everything I care about. Plus it’s easy to set up. With wsl it’s more like a separate thing, it wasn’t as easy to run in place. A lot of times I still used batch or powershell scripts so it wasn’t totally bash. Like Docker is easier to use from not bash in Windows because the syntax is so wonky.

But now I don’t use Windows at all.
