Sounds great, but as with so many of these projects, they sound overly complicated for the masses. Wero is already a thing and it’s straight forward. Even that is too complicated for many people, but it’s gaining traction at least.

An alternative to PayPal, called WERO is currently in it’s rollout process in Germany, Belgium and France. In October the next step will be activated, allowing payments in e-commerce. Later down the road, you’ll be able to pay in real shops. Luxembourg and Netherlands are to join in next. More and more banks start to adopt WERO.

I urge everyone to use WERO as much as you can. It’s flying a bit under the radar at the moment and this must be a success. Hopefully more EU members will join soon.

What’s wrong with giving the spouse a quick call when they’re worried about them? Fuck sharing your location, what kind of dumb shit is this? If anything, sharing your location might actually make them paranoid in the first place, as they might try to interpret things in your movement. The hell is wrong with people? I think a lot of the tech is responsible for the shitty life. Tech got better until perhaps end of the naughts. After that it’s just one bullshit excuse after the other to make devices obsolete as quick as possible. Plus the complete enshittification of the internet.

I’m just glad that decentralized social media is becoming a thing and the FOSS movement is huge.

While I also liked the 90s, because that’s where the most pivotal part of my childhood took place, I’d never want to go back. That was also the time where air pollution was insane, older kids bullied little children and drank beer on the playgrounds, there was dog shit everywhere, car stereos were constantly stolen, cars were put on bricks to steal the wheels, litter was everywhere, people smoked everywhere etc. etc. Fuck all that. I just wish we could go back to pre internet times. Maybe the beginnings of the internet. That’d be nice.
