Favorite and least favorite strategy games: Shogi
No real reason. Just something I picked up one day out of boredom on mobile and really liked. It’s also my least favorite because I suck at it and sometimes make really dumb mistakes.
Favorite chance game: basically anything where there’s a roll of the die, a swish of a card turning over, or a clip of a coin. I love randomness, so I don’t have a problem with games of chance if I’m not betting anything.
Least favorite: gonna have to agree with OP on this one.
Had to do a quick conversion search to make sure roughly how much that would be, and I could have a day like the fairly recent day I bought a pawn shop acoustic guitar, pack of picks, and a guitar stand maybe around 10 times.
I could also, probably, head over to a CD shop I really like and buy probably close to 100 CDs ( probably much less than 90 because tax, but that’s still a lot ).
I could go to an electronics shop and get their opinion and help on upgrading my desktop motherboard, alongside upgrading to a used, few years older ( probably 2020-21 because I don’t do much that would kill it ) model graphics card if I could find a good one somewhere like eBay.
I could try to collect a physical copy of every single non-arcade, launched in America Sonic game on console. Console not included for some of them because they’re too expensive or I don’t care about them for the case of anything past xbox360 or ps3. Though, I imagine the Master System titles would be pretty expensive, so IDK how that would go.
Either that, or I would love to cheap out and just pay some people who are willing to do a copyright infringement by making some Tails plushies based on his SatAM/Adventures cartoon design/personality. Would probably be a lot cheaper and just as cool. Fulfills my hobby of having a ton of plushies/stuffed animals and be Sonic related, so bonus points to me.
I could wait for the next Steam sale and get tons of games to add to my backlog but never actually get around to. Even with my somewhat picky nature, I’m fairly certain I’d find tons of games to purchase.
I could probably get even better headphones than my already pretty good quality beats to really up my music listening. Pair that with a pretty good audio playback device and I’d be in heaven… or accidentally make myself deaf and wanna die.
I could get the remaining manga from the Bakuman series I like and, depending on price and volumes, probably get the remainders of Soul Eater ( I think I’ve only got maybe volumes 1-2 ).
I could buy a metric ton of snacks and foods from a nearby import store and an Asian market.
Hell, I could probably take a couple lessons for that guitar I bought so that way I can learn the proper way to play.
Edit:
I could also expand my dice collection and playing card collection. I would love to have a ton of decks of cards. Especially some ones where the cards are different shapes, like these little leaf shaped cards I currently own.
Since I am an absolute idiot who doesn’t know what happened back then in order to rake in money off of things like betting ( either legal or illegally ), probably just ( assuming I have 'em ) listen to CDs on my CD player and hop on computer and hope I have any good games.
I haven’t seen it in years, so I could be misremembering things, but The Golden Girls.
I don’t care for either of them, personally. Simple as.
I’m a simple guy. I don’t need super ultra realistic graphics/ray traced reflections, I don’t need things upscaled to “look better”. I don’t care about any benefits it could give. If the game runs and looks good enough on my 2010s TV monitor, I’ll be fine.
I am definitely not the target audience for this kinda technology.
Absolutely gonna agree with OP. Art deco is absolutely amazing and 100% my pic.
For me personally, for older electronics, eBay is my default.
For newer stuff I don’t even bother online, for the most part anymore. I try my best not to go through amazon ( even though that’s where I ended up getting my 2TB external drive and a supposedly refurbished tablet ) because I don’t wanna give them business if I don’t have to, every single time I have ever tried ordering anything on the walmart website any account I make gets flagged or some other problem arises, I have no experience with other sites like NewEgg, and I think Best Buy is a little overpriced, usually, for what I’m looking for.
Only a backup for my phone. I’ve got an older model that I had to use during last summer and into the fall after going swimming with my, then relatively new, $200USD samsung. I’m absolutely grateful that my SIL gave me it, even if it is a probably around 10 years old model. Insecure but damn did it allow me to do what I needed.
Otherwise, not really. If my shit goes, I’m not that prepared. I should be, but I’m not.
For android, IronFox ( from their repository that I added to F-Droid ) or I started recently using the DuckDuckGo ( also from F-Droid ) for those rare websites that don’t work on IronFox ( like justtherecipe or just earlier justbeamit ).
On my laptop running Linux, I have the default Firefox, an ungoogled chromium for websites that don’t work on FF, and TOR.
As for my desktop running win10 ( and definitely Linux by the end of the summer, I hope ), I have FF, Librewolf, Tor, and just recently got Mullvad VPN’s browser. Probably shouldn’t have that many browsers as once, but I’m an idiot.
If you’re like me and either don’t have enough space or don’t like moving a normal computer mouse around, a good trackball mouse is probably gonna be real good.
I originally got a cheap enough ergonomic wireless Logitech one from walmart for my then new laptop I got for college. Then, just maybe a month or two ago, I got an ergonomic one from Elecom to replace my standard mouse because it was having some click problems and scroll wheel issues. The only problem I have with either is how the ball on the Elecom one doesn’t always move super smooth and I can’t be as precise as I can with the Logitech one.
I use things like “excusé moi” for when I burp/belch and when alone and thinking out loud to myself will slip on random words I know from other languages if I end up on a random tangent. Otherwise, I tend not to.
No. Not even close to financially stable as a college student in his mid-20s.
Also, if I did want kids, I think I’d rather adopt than bring a child into a world that is dying and end up not being able to ensure they have a future that doesn’t end in apocalypse.
I think my all time favorite as of now is still Taiwanese singer Jam Hsiao and I have seen him live 0 times because he hasn’t come tour America. And there’s no way he’d be coming over now because it doesn’t matter if he’s famous or not, I guarantee he’d probably be deported to jail in South America just for being Asian.
As an adult I can attest to some vehicles being way too damn high up for their own good. I’m slightly below average height for my area and while out shopping I walked by a truck with a grill that came up above my height. If the driver was in and decided to get rolling, there would definitely have been a good chance of I was directly in front of it that I’d be in the hospital.
If the drive would be unable to see me when I’m right up against the grill, a small child would probably stand no chance a few feet away. The people with vehicles like that definitely should to stop stroking their 1mm peter like it’s a 2 footer and think of other people’s safety.
Probably not the weirdest by a long shot, but I absolutely love having leftover dinner for breakfast because I’m not a big breakfast food fan.
One of my favorites is if there’s leftover homemade mac and cheese, I’ll take some and heat it. Then I’ll put some on a tortilla and then add ketchup. Roll it up and I will gladly devour it.
Probably Sonic Mega Collection because it really got me into platformers and made me into a Sonic fan. Kinda solidified my taste in games a little as I’ll gladly take a family friendly platformer like Sonic or other titles like Ty the Tasmanian Tiger or Yooka-Laylee over an online PVP game like any call of duty because Sonic taught me to love platformers more, even to this day.
Also kinda solidified the fact that I’d rather casually play through a lot of games and not be that guy who tries to be perfect at a game. That caused me to get where I am today where I’ll play co-op in a game but avoid full-on PVP with a random group of people because I know they’ll mop the floor with me and I’d just end up quitting before giving the game a fair shot.
I choose to be delusional and let things play out a little further before saying everything is fucked. If we just gave up now and accepted it’s dead, then they’ll make sure it’s dead. If we hold hope and keep protesting ( even the violent ones ) something might change.
Maybe not quite that old, but old enough that the really soft blanket I got for Christmas was the highlight. Even over the real nice headphones I got that I’ve fallen in love with.
Though, I was recently thinking of getting myself a couple towels all for myself and was kinda excited at the prospect of having my own couple towels my family can’t use, so maybe I’m nearly there.
Plain marshmallows on their own are fine.
