Being attacked by a cat is annoying, not potentially lethal. Also cats don’t usually attack without reason. If a cat keeps attacking for “no reason” that’s learned behaviour. Their instinct is to run away from humans, which is what wild and feral cats do unless cornered.

Cat scratch fever is a real thing and can be dangerous. But I doubt anyone has been mauled to death by a pack of cats.
Granted, no one’s been mauled to death by a hungry Chihuahua either.
I bet there’s some freak example of an elderly person or infant getting mauled to death by a Chihuahua.
I mean, dog sized cat species exist and we don’t keep them as pets with good reason.
