Assuming this is a harassment campaign… does anyone know if the real person in those pictures is aware of this? I could be wrong but remember someone finding her linkedin/some other social media idk? Also the person behind this Nicole spam posted her work place in the matrix room, I think?

Has anyone… like… let her know about this yet? Or we can’t actually contact her…?

    Hey there, I’m sorry to bother you, and this is going to be really weird but… I’ve tracked you down in real life knowing that this might make you feel awkward and uncomfortable and exposed and threatened to let you know that some unhinged weirdo is spamming your photo and vague details about you to a few thousand people in this niche federated community in the misguided hope that weirdos will track you down in real life to make you feel awkward and uncomfortable and exposed and threatened. Anyhoo, I just thought you’d want to be aware of this creepy shit storm despite being completely powerless to stop it happening. Peace!

      Hey, there is some unhinged weirdo obsessed with you that is spamming your picture through the internet. You might want so take some precautions, because people like that can be really dangerous. If you have an idea who might behind this, we from the fediverse community can provide you with information, because what this guy is doing is a criminal offense in most jurisdictions.

        Oh please. As though “we from the fediverse” have any special knowledge that any interested party couldn’t gather in a moment.

        You could probable just search “fediverse nicole” and come straight here.

        If she’s not aware then making her aware won’t help in any way. If she is aware, which is by far the most likely, then you’re just part of the harassment.

        I understand the motivation to be a hero and “do the right thing” but in this case the right thing is to do nothing.

        Sure but to give her that opportunity you need to seek her our, which is exactly what her harasser wants.

        If there were something she could do that might make it worth it. There isn’t, so all you can possibly achieve is additional harm.
