Considering that these fucking people centred everything around calling trans people predators (while voting for a known pedophile), I think it’s only fair that it gets made clear that statistically, the last person that you should ever leave your child around is a white cisgender male christian American.

I’m absolutely not declaring “both sides” and it’s disingenuous of you to imply that I am. For that, kindly fuck off.
What I’m saying is that, as posted, this kind of content comes across as baseless propaganda.
The group compiling this are clearly doing a lot of work. Why? I would hope it’s to convince people that are reachable but need convincing.
You say that there’s a Facebook page with details on each one. Great. Then the image just needs a little fine print at the bottom, “See our Facebook page for sources.”
But they’re still leaving the “innocent until proven guilty” door wide open. They should definitely close that.
I do not work with them nor am I associated with them in any way. I just shared this here and left more than enough details for people to verify for themselves if they still doubt the fact that religious right wingers tend to be scum with issues around children and with projecting their own actions and guilt onto others.
This isn’t some new groundbreaking revelation. That’s why the clutching at pearls over trans people was such a fucking joke. Because they’ve been turning a blind eye to kiddie fiddling priests and right wing politicians for decades now. And proved that christianity is a religion of conformity, not morality.
This is literally just more information for the people who have actually been awake at any point in their lives and aren’t just finding out today that right wingers are disproportionately involved in child abuse. So that they can know to keep children away from the man with the maga hat and tell their friends. So that the heat can be on the right target.
It’s why I’m being a bit hostile here. This to me isn’t really a conversation in good faith. It’s debating the validity of something that has been a problem for at least as long as I’ve been alive, almost four decades.
I didn’t think you were. That’s why my critique was directed at them, not you.

20 some years ago I ran a blog with this exact kind of content. I had saved Google searches that would find news articles that I would verify before posting. I limited them to people convicted of any crime, not simply arrested or charged, where their religion was somehow relevant to the story, and still averaged about one a day. The overwhelming majority were religious authority figures (predominantly Christian) commiting sex crimes against children in their care. It was fucking exhausting and depressing and drained my mental health, which is why I quit.
People already aware of this problem don’t need to be flooded with reminders of it. What they need is the ammunition to take these reminders to those close to them that somehow aren’t aware.
RWW has already done 99% of the work. All I’m suggesting is that they do the extra 1% so that anybody that doesn’t have the time or energy to go dig up this stuff themselves can just forward it to Aunt June and know that Aunt June won’t be able to rebut any of it. They don’t want to waste time debating Aunt Jane. They’ve got their own shit to do. What they want is for want Aunt Jane to STFU about how “Pastor Bob is so good with the kids.”
Ah I definitely understand the “preaching to the choir” sentiment, particularly here on Lemmy. I think that’s also partly why I’m fucking with mainstream social media right now.
But I mean in that case, might as well not share any political content here. Personally I wasn’t sharing it here to preach to anyone here. I think that sharing content here is more for showing things to like minded people. Maybe a reminder sometimes. Or something for them to look up or share to their social media or whatever.
I could’ve been a little less defensive, so I apologize. The platform where I got this from is a shit show where certain people literally defend this shit. Need to remind myself that I don’t need to automatically fight when I’m here.
No need to apologize, and I don’t mean to imply that you shouldn’t have posted. It’s good to know people are out there fighting the good fight. I look forward to similar posts in future months and hope someday RWW will start producing images that I can forward to my proverbial Uncle Joe that can start to break his shell and doesn’t just give him a toe hold to start a pointless debate and dig in further into his beliefs.
