I think they may have taken the idea from a different artist without crediting them (or vice versa, I haven’t checked the dates on which comic is older).
Thank you for your reply. That is also a really cute comic!! To be fair though; this is just a universal cat owner thing and I’ve seen this joke made in various mediums over the years. It’s a cat behavior as universal as “if I fits I sits” ^^
