Personally kind of radical even for the social democracy i live in so I’m heavily biased but I feel like when people do talk about US-American democracy democracy as a term (rule of the people) is doing so much heavy lifting to maybe a comical extent.
While the Republican party is obviously much worse the Democratic party was still garbage. As an outsider I’m getting the impression that a lot of the momentum Trump was getting was repurposing radical thought because people while not understanding at all what Trump was doing and are at best naive felt unrepresented, abondened and overlooked and often rightfully so. That the election race was like it was does not feel like a coincidence but rather a show of how undemocratic the system really is. Besides its not like the system has not sponsored a range of fascistic coups externally to further its own interests.
Im rambling but I kind of see a liberal election as being able to pick your opposition, not your allies.
