Microsoft announced that, starting today, individual Windows developers will no longer have to pay for publishing their applications on the Microsoft Store.

    They are 15-years too late to try to get people on their store.

    I remember when it first came out, you couldn’t even put normal programs on it. Only the new Metro apps…that flopped. Ah, how I had hoped at the time it would be like Linux’s repos, a one-stop-shop to update everything.

      There is an official linux like package manager for windows called winget but its targeted at system administrators and not at the typical enduser.
