I’m not really sure why.

My dog sadly died under similar circumstances recently. For a few days prior to his death, I thought he was just being odd and disobedient, but he was always an odd, disobedient dog so I just put it down to his mood; then one day I took a nap and woke up to him gone.

Don’t worry - I do love this cat, but love or not, I don’t want any animal to suffer. I’m pretty sure she’s just old and tired and doesn’t like my other two cats (the spot where she was sleeping is not frequented by them). However, in case she’s unwell, I’ll watch out for her. Thank you for the warning.

I’m not happy to hear you’ve already experienced such a loss, however I am thankful to not unnecessarily alarm you. Sorry for your loss :( Animal companions are incredibly special.

Speaking of other cats, I believe part of my homeboi’s eventual demise was the introduction (I was adopted) of a new cat. Talk about stressful for all parties involved.

I was not adopted, but my sister and son/nephew were. I can’t imagine the stresses of being adopted, maybe especially when you’re old enough to understand what’s happening, but my sister always raised one interesting point: if you were adopted, you were chosen!
