    A part of Hitler’s rise to power was the night of long knives, where he had Nazi party members jockeying for his spot assassinated by the brownshirts.

    Seeing as how everything is dumber in America, I suppose this is their version.

      You got your history a little bit off. The leaders of the brownshirts were assassinated by the blackshirts (the SS). The brownshirts were the victims of the Night of the Long Knives, and they never achieved the level of importance in Hitlers hierarchy as they had held earlier.

      I don’t also really see the similarity with what is going on right now. Ernst Röhm was only powerful because of his position within Hitlers ranks, and he was taken out immediately and secretly with no open feud going on between them. It was Hitler removing old baggage within his own ranks, as he had outgrown them.

      Röhm was never a powerful figure on his own. But both Trump and Musk are powerful in American society independent of each other, and, assuming this feud is real, it makes it much more interesting than The Night of Long Knives, because they both have the capability of dealing a lot of damage to each other.
