I had a few alt accounts from a decade ago that I’d sometimes used to get something from that site but over the past year the all got banned for no reason because I literally didn’t even post with them.
Im guessing that Reddit wants to get rid of those older users that still remember how great it was
Yep, 11+ year Reddit user and I had never received a single ban save a few of those pre-emptive ones from overly zealous subreddits I’d never even interacted with. Then in the last 6 weeks I received escalating bans of 3 days, then 7, and just yesterday finally a permaban, without much change in my rhetoric. I’ve always been very hostile to fascists and conservatives on my account, and for 99% of my Reddit history that never got flagged at all. So fuck em, I’m not going to try and get back on, the Reddit of today is not the one I enjoyed using back in the 2010s.

Yeah I’ve been wondering if I actually got banned because I used old.reddit and a hacked Reddit mobile app.
