I feel like Silicon Valley got trapped between two parties. On one side, Democrats were actively discussing increased regulations and antitrust litigation. On the other side, Republicans were going to accept free reign as long as they got support on “other policies”.
It turns out the “other policies” included significantly reducing their customer base.
Is it because none of those assholes are as smart as they think they are?
I’ll bet it’s because none of those assholes are as smart as they think they are.
Gratitude and humility are two sides of the same coin.
If someone admits that they were successful because of outside circumstances [luck, God, call it what you will] then it follows that they admit that there’s something they are powerless over.
To put it another way, most of the folks at the top of Silicon Valley were born on thrid base and think they hit a triple.
