An analysis of the emerging “Trump is at war with Iran” frame contextualizing three articles by Ken Klippenstein. It’s my view that this frame is a mere attempt for Democrats to reframe themselves as war-adverse peaceniks against a background of Trump which they pretend is exceptional and unique. And to do this after their own brutal reign of genocide, without ever addressing the genocide.
I must have missed the Ken Klippenstein’s pro-Democrat arc where he said Democrats were peaceniks. Are you sure you are talking about Ken Klippenstrein?
Ken believes we’re in an exceptional period of tension with Iran. His articles range from “we’re already at war” to “war is on the table”. I don’t believe Ken thinks Democrats are peaceniks. I do believe this frame he puts forward is created and pushed by the DNC for very obvious reasons. It gives Democrats an ability to differentiate themselves from Trump on a moral issue that is of substantial weight with everyone. The wording I used is consistent with this, “mere attempt for Democrats to reframe themselves as war-adverse peaceniks against a background of Trump”.
If Trump really said/did these things, Then he must really want war with Iran. Ergo, Democrats are better.
That’s a DNC tactic to establish themselves as a moral authority. My problem is it only works when you ignore what they themselves say and do – which is always very similar.
Democrats are beholden to other lobbies than solely Israel. It is less likely they are willing to start a war with Iran for the sole reason that Iran can blow up all the oil in the region.
The way that Trump has been dismantling every US soft power institution lately does indicate he might just be stupid enough to follow Netanyahu’s orders, and wreck the global economy. And probably end the American hegemony with it.
