    I sometimes wish that I could have been a medieval peasant and just worked a farm or something. Just wake up, farm, sleep. Nothing to think about.

        That’s a bit of a misconception. The mean age is heavily skewed by the extremely high infant mortality rates. If you made it to 5 then you had a pretty good chance of living into your 60’s and 70’s.

          I’m pretty sure that’s not true. Life expectancy was pretty low for peasants. They literally had no doctors or dentist.

          Famine was common.

          Google says 30-40 years old. Medieval peasant lifespan.

          Infant mortality is not taken into account when determining this number.
